Hot Cargo Pad (BLAHA), Camp Bastion Air Base, Afghanistan
This project provides approximately a 22,500 square meters (m2) of aircraft ramp area dedicated for handling hazardous cargo (referred to as hot cargo) in Camp Bastion, Afghanistan. This facility supports the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Coalition forces operations in the Helmand Province of Afghanistan. The ramp is located to the northeast of new Runway 01-19. The primary facilities includes a ramp parking area, ladder connecting taxiway, and vehicular access road. Support facilities include electrical service (edge lights and high mast lights), tie-down/grounding, and site improvements. Aircraft design for the ramp is for C-5.
